RBR-WORLD TECNICAL GUIDE

Various guides

How to use the "Cam setting"

We start with the concept that each of us has his own visual preference, therefore is impossible to indicate the correct values that can fit well for everyone.

The visuals in the game are 4 (actually 5 but the "bonnet" in play is not used) and all changeable at our own will.

VIEW BUMPER

VISUAL INTERNAL Central / Hood ( "bonnet2")

VISUAL GUIDE

REAR VIEW

To adjust them as first open the utility, select the car you want to modify, and over the preview photo there is the CAM SET button, so you open the "visual control" menu.

All are selected from the menu ....
The first pull-down menu (CAR VERSION) select the preferred combinations between the various "lights on" - "lightpod installed", "lights out"... etc etc

In the second drop-down menu you will find the visual (CAMERA)

CAM_INTERNAL (poiszione pilot)
CAM_BACKSEAT (poizione behind the car)
CAM_EXTERNAL (position Bumper)
CAM_BONNET2 (central passenger compartment or in some cars is already set on the hood)

When you have selected the option you want, both the first pull-down menu, and even in the second,it will appear all the numbers that you can edit in the left panel.

POSITION: (the visual starting point)
first two arrows X axis: left right
arrows second axis Y: High Low
arrows third axis Z: On back

In the TARGET box
(End point of view)
The system to move it's the same, but we recommend not to change it.

FOV: This parameter gives the sense of speed and the visual perspective, for example on visual Hood, it is recommended to put the FOV 1.7 -1.8

STEP: increasing it, every click will speed up the setting of the various pareametri you are going to select

STEERING WHEELS: Unchecking no longer see the steering wheel from the inner visual

SAVE LIVE: Save settings (in this regard, remember TO SAVE ALWAYS otherwise you lose time and enough!)

IMPORTANT!!! We recommend using the same parameters with both the lightpod mounted (for the night) and for the day. You will avoid to find you with two different views when you will race at night.

EXAMPLE viewing on the hood:
They select from the first drop down menu .... light_of_no_ramp
They select from the second drop-down menu ... Cam_bonnet2

I put the FOV 1.80 and I'm going to change the Z value (Front-Back "position") and take it as a starting -2.10
(This depends on car car so this vule value changed depending on the car that is used by around -1.95 to -2.25)
Save, close and try the car in a stage.

REMEMBER TO SAVE CHANGES and every car that you decide to use you should modify the visual control only the first time, then it will be right forever.

How to prepare your car's setup?

This guide is for information only, remember that every structure is closely related to the driving style so purely subjective.

-DIFFERENTIALS

DIFFERENTIAL ELECTRONIC: Honestly it would take an engineer to explain, however, adjusting the percentage you can decide how much and at what speed threshold you intervene electronics and differential lock. For example at low speeds and during acceleration differentials must work. In full speed must be free.
DIFFERENTIAL MECHANICAL (2WD-4WD): They are mechanical and therefore the higher the more it will stop the wheels in traction, but it makes it harder guide for 2wd and less precise. For 4wd if you prefer a guide "type rear" lift the differential so much behind and the central and lower the front. Conversely you get the effect 2wd.

-SUSPENSIONS

All values must be adapted to every cars and every driving style!

-DUMPERS

Compression: the higher the value is, more the car becomes stiff. Expansion: the higher the value is, more the car bounces after the jumps and pits. Quick compression: it absorbs the first impact in the pits, higer is the value, the less the dumper get squashed. Rapid compression limit: affects the value above if it is higher, stiffen the car is.

-SPRINGS

Spring length: determines the height of the machine. Spring hardness: if you stretch the spring it should also increase the hardness to comply with the stability. Additional spring or spring preload: acts as the values above and determines the first impact on the wheel. Spring hardness: as above.

-GEOMETRIES

Upper position: as more or less accurate insertion cornering worsening or improving mileage. Arm length steering: increases or decreases the convergence. Height Platform Support: updown suspensions attachments raising and lowering also the machine from the ground. Inclination: increases or decreases the camber of the wheels.

These values also apply to the rear geometries.

-ROLLBAR/STEERING

The steering if you increase the degrees (that in layman's terms) must do more 'turns of the steering wheel to get to the maximum steering angle of the machine (all is also linked to the setting of the right wheel profiler). Front rearrollbar: are the anti roll bars and more are hard the machine becomes more precise but counterparty loses grip in bumpy.

-GEARBOX

In some machines there is the blossoming possibilities to choose the gear ratio (preset) between short/medium/long marches.

-BRAKES

The regulator of braking: depending on your needs you can adjust the braking power between the front and rear. Higer the value is, more the car brakes strong (but you could lock Braking System).

-TIRES

They adjust the tires pressure.

-FREQUENT QUESTIONS

+ The car jumps?

   Two causes:

It may be too low and therefore this makes it bouncing in the air.

Lift it from the ground acting on the length of the springs

Has the shock extension too rigid then "shoot the shock in the air".

Lower the "extensionexpansion" value in the dampers

+ The Machine understeer?

Increase the camber and the negative convergence value. Usually the convergence is always with the value - (minus). Operate the rear differential (on 4wd). Increase front anti roll bars.

+ The machine easily rolls?

It may be too high and too rigid. Change on the dampers and springs.

--> We recommend that you make a change at a time and give it a try to see how the car reacts and if you are going the right way (if you move too many parameters all at once you will never understand what is the right one or the wrong one)

Also suggest the beginners (when you are not so practical) to pass a value from one extreme to another in a way to understand immediately the different behavior of the machine. Then when you have found the right way you are going to modify it to find the right fit!

Tests on tests possibly on the bumpy stages will allow you to better understand every single value that relates to the structure.

RBR crashes when you go back to the utility section (Win 10)

Especially if you are one of those users who have installed RBR on Windows 10 it may have occoured to you that, once you finish a special stage and click on Return to RBR-World nothing happens for a while. It often crashes on the game screen, some other times on a white screen.

We understand that the problem is serious, especially if it occours during a race, at the end of a great special stage.

The good news is that Windows 10 has a solution.
In the majority of the cases that we have analyzed so far the timing was sent to the utility section with no problems. It's safe to say that the race ranking was not affected. However it is not the utility section that crashes but the original game, just when you click on the button to go back to the utility section.

How to solve the problem: - press F2: it might succeed in closing the game.
- if that doesn't work try pressing CTRL+ALT+CANC: at this point a screen should appear and allow you to select the task management. In that case choose RBR (the original game, which should bear the wording “No response”) and click on End Activity.

The problem is that RBR is a non – windowed game (it only has the full screen option) so it's very likely that you can't see the task management activity, the window will open up but will remain under the game's window.

At this point the best solution is the following:
- press the home button on the keyboard (the one with Windows logo) to see the taskbar or even just the cursor. Now you have to click on the button with the 3 rectangles which will make a screen appear with a list of all the active programmes, showing them all contemporarily on the display. At the bottom you should see two windows, Desktop 1 and Desktop 2.

Now you can drag the game's screen in Desktop 2 so that you can go back to Desktop 1, see the Task Management window and close the crashed game (which bears the wording “No Response”).

Good Luck!
